SAEC member schools offer high school diploma programs for adults who want to complete the credits needed to graduate.
Programs at member schools include:
  • Flexible class schedules: morning, afternoon, and evening hours
  • Support in reading, writing, and math
  • Help with study skills and time management
  • Clear plans to track progress toward graduation
  • Member adult schools require the state of California graduation requirements, currently 130 credits

High school equivalency pathways

If earning a diploma is not the best option for you, you may choose to complete a high school equivalency (Disponible en Español). These programs help adults prepare for approved equivalency exams.
Support may include:
  • Preparation classes in key subjects
  • Practice testing and review
  • Test registration assistance
  • Guidance on next steps after completion
  • Schools offer high school equivalency via GED or Hi-SET
Staff will help you decide which path is right for your goals.

Build Academic Skills

To start the HSD program you will need: 
  1. To be 18 years of age
  2. A form of ID 
  3. Transcripts from previous high school (if available) 
  4. Pre-register online or call the school 
  5. Attend an orientation
